I'm back to tell you about some of my favorite reads from this past month! It's always nice when I realize I had a varied stretch of reading. Sometimes I get caught up in a series and realize weeks have gone by without me sampling from multiple authors. Not that I mind those jaunts into a talented writer's backlist, but it makes the recommending game a bit more difficult. No issue with that this time around! Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir One of the best things about YA no
I feel like such a traitor for asking that question! I'm a summer baby! Aren't I ...? For some reason, this year I'm craving cooler weather and all the fantastic goodies that come with the change of season. To name a few of my favorites ... I'm obsessed with sweaters. And flannel. I want them soft as kittens' fur and loose enough that I can tuck my hands inside the sleeves or pull the collars up over my nose when it gets cold. Some might call my fall style frumpy lumberjack .
I just got back from the beach! Lot's of swimming, laying around in the sun, and best of all ... NONSTOP READING!!! This is going to be a good segment of Lauren's Library. Delicious romance and even a dash of nonfiction at the end! A Girl Like Her by Talia Hibbert This small town romance had me swooning at every turn. Geeky, prickly, secretly sweet heroine had a sexy, dinner-cooking, metal-working hero worshipping her the entire book. If you like reading about nasty gossips b
The weather was supposed to be getting warm by now, but out here in Colorado we're still battling snow! Oh well. If I'm stuck inside, that just means more times for reading. Here's a few of my favorites from May! Barbarian Alien by Ruby Dixon This book is the second installment in a crazy, ridiculous, sexy-as-hell-if-hell-froze-over-because-we're-stuck-on-an-ice-planet alien romance! I fell down the rabbit hole with this series and have not bothered trying to climb back out.
This segment of Lauren's Library, I want to give shout outs to some of my favorite YA novels! Bloody Jack by L. A. Meyer Jacky Faber is a girl who is an expert at getting herself into trouble, but she's even better at getting herself out of it. This series is raw, yet hilarious. I love how Jacky, who starts out as a street urchin, is clever enough to continue improving her lot in life. Sure, she gets knocked down ever so often. But no one can keep this pirate goddess from con
Every day I have to do menial tasks. They're repetitive and mind-numbing, and even though they're necessary (no one wants me to stop brushing my teeth, I'm sure), often I come away from them feeling like I wasted a chunk of time. But I've found a solution ... Podcasts! Now my days are full of learning and laughter, I thought I'd share a handful of my favorite podcasts with you all. Didn’t you know? I’m, like, super professional … All the Kissing When I listen to All the Kissi
If you've read my recent blog posts then you know my life has been kind of crazy as of late. So, time for reading new books has been hard to find. But, I had an idea! A few weeks ago I handpicked three romance novels for a friend in a Secret Santa gift exchange. Her only stipulation: she LOVES the enemies to lovers trope. So, I thought I'd gift you all with the same books I gave to her. If you're a fan of enemies to lovers, try one of these out. Mystic and Rider by Sharon Shi
Another month has gone by, and some wonderful books have come into my life these past few weeks. So let's get into it! Reaper's Property by Joanna Wylde This sexy, dirty love story has introduced me to the world of motorcycle club romances, and I am so here for it! Would I want to be labeled as a man's property in real life? Hell no. Did I thoroughly enjoy reading about it? Hell yes. I'm ready to fall down this MC rabbit hole and delve into the darker side of the genre. The G
It's another round of Lauren's Library! Want to discover a few of the titles I loved this month? I won't keep you in suspense any longer ... Dr. Strange Beard by Penny Reid I am a huge fan of Penny Reid's quirky intelligent characters, and this new release did not disappoint! Plus, the trope of a childhood friendship, where one is secretly pining after the other, is my catnip. This book checked so many boxes for me: bearded men, a woman with badass fighting skills, puppies, d
Lauren's Library is going to consist of books I've read and liked. This is not a detailed review source, just a list of recommendations. Agree with me, disagree with me, doesn't matter! I enjoyed each one of these, and I hope you all check out a few of them. Click on the picture of the book to purchase a copy off Amazon, or feel free to browse your local public library or used bookstore to find a copy. No one is asking me to list their books here. (Why would they? At this poi
